In The Attic, The 7 Fingers defy genres and merge forms, blending acrobatics, theater, dance, music, and multimedia. True to the Montreal collective’s signature, this brand-new production tells human stories with superhuman virtuosity through an immersive and extraordinary stage experience.

SYNOPSIS

From the primal vista of her childhood bedroom springs Shana Carroll’s wildly imaginative, ground-breaking memoir that takes theater to new heights.

Inspired by the Tony Award-nominated former trapezist’s mesmerizing life story, a company of fearless performers transforms memory into aerial feats that are as moving as they are breathtaking. An ill woman, bedridden in her childhood attic bedroom, revisits memories of literal flight and acts of daring. Through her trapeze artist past, she finds the tools to brave her present reality, and the ability to still fly through the air even when bound to a bed.

The explosive, life-affirming properties of acrobatics put into vivid focus the joy and gravity-defying passion of a life lived fully. The Attic is at once a memoir and a love song to life itself, as seen from all its angles. The stage becomes both playground and confessional, a space where vulnerability is not hidden but elevated.

Blending contemporary circus, theater, and movement, this production embraces the fragility and resilience that shape us. It invites audiences into a shared human experience—one where risk mirrors growth, and where courage is found not in perfection, but in the willingness to leap.
